It was another great day at C-A-W, even with a little rain. The kids played games, participated in relay races, cooked up a storm in the Cookhouse, and laid down some killer tracks in the School of Rock.

After a great day, it was time to start an evening full of fun. We began a new flag football league at CHEN-A-WANDA for our Seniors, Supers, GCs and CITs/Waiters. The draft consisted of 70 boys and 4 girls making 6 teams. We had our first three games last night, under the lights. It was a great game and the campers loved playing.

All of our Juniors, Middies and Inters spent the evening playing “Stuff in a Bag”. This game, like a scavenger hunt, had them running through their bunk gathering random items and then creating different characters upon request. It was hilarious and the campers loved this crazy wacky game.

Our Super girls spent the evening in our Cookhouse creating fabulous treats for them to eat, while the entire Collegiate division went off camp for a fantastic evening of bowling. They too had an amazing time.

It was another fantastic day at C-A-W and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

August 1st:

• 7th grade soccer won.

August 2nd:

• 7th grade baseball won (invitational).
• 9th grade basketball lost (invitational).
• 4th grade basketball lost.
• 6th grade basketball won.

We had another phenomenal day at camp. The weather was beautiful and the kids were out playing games, swimming in the pool, climbing the iceberg, and much more! Even with so much going on, the excitement was all about Boys Lip Sync and they gave us a fantastic show. Each division spent countless hours preparing dances that fit the theme they decided on. The themes were:

• Juniors: Juniors on Fire
• Middies: Bringing Britany Back
• Inters: Grease Lightning
• Collegiates: Lion King
• Seniors: Revenge of the Nerds
• Supers: Cascada
• CGs: School of Rock
• CITs/Waiters: Spice Girls

After much deliberation, the Inters received the winning title for lower camp and the Seniors took home the win for upper camp. It was a great night and the tradition of Boys Lip Sync stays strong.

Another day of rain didn’t stop the fun. Boys were hard at work practicing for Boys Lip Sync. The girls played board games, watched movies, made sand art, and did much more.

The rain subsided just in time for Elianna Sutton, our 1st Chenny Idol, to board her yellow stretch Hummer Limousine with her entire bunk. It was off to TGI Fridays for a night out on the town. Our little rock star and her entourage had a fantastic night. The girls were talking about taking their act on a world tour.

Upper camp enjoyed an evening of Bingo as they played for shakes from Arlos, a wings party for their bunk and to be head staff for the day. Lower camp were rockin’ out as they karaoked the night away.

We had a fantastic day at camp today. The weather was beautiful and all the activities were in full swing.

The excitement was all about Halloween. The Senior girls spent the afternoon decorating camp with scary skeletons and ghoulish ghosts. Our Halloween festivities began with a costume contest in the Rec Hall. Congratulations to Eric Bass as he won best costume for his “duct tape man”. It was creative, inventive and hilarious. Then on the girls side, 1st place went to Hannah Pollack as she wowed the judges with her “rocket ship” costume.

After the contest, it was trick or treating. The campers went to each designated spot to get their treat. After the bags were full o’ goodies, it was time for the relay races. We ended the night with all our campers venturing through our hay maze.

A great night had by all.

It was raining buckets today but that didn’t stop all the fun. We went with our rainy day activities. Boys practiced for Lip Sync and played in the canteen and rec hall. Girls were cooking, recording in the School of Rock, creating in arts & crafts and playing board games.

The night ended with movies in the Rec Hall for the Juniors, Middy’s and Inters as they watched Cheaper by the Dozen 2. The Collegiates and Seniors were in the teen center watching Knowing.

Rain or shine, Chen-A-Wanda rocks!!!!!

July 23rd:

July 27th:

• Boys track team won 1st place for the second year in a row.

We attempted Camel Beach earlier this summer but were rained out. With high demand from our lower camp campers, we went back and boy did we have a great time. The sun was shining, the temps were high and Camel Beach was the place to be. We swooshed down the waterslides, played under the water sprouting mushrooms and got carried down the giant water toilet bowl. It was a perfect day.

Our Supers, GC’s and CIT’s/Waits are having a great time in Virginia Beach. They had a fantastic time at Kings Dominion Amusement Park and all are looking forward to a relaxing day at the beach tomorrow (Wednesday).

Life is so great here at CAW!!!

We had a great day yesterday. The lakefront was hoppin’ with action and the water trampoline was the place to be. Campers were flying off the blob and loving every minute of it. The beach was busy with campers building sand castle and the middy boys made a fiddle lake replica and took great pride in their creation.

It was packing night for the Supers, GC’s and CIT’s/Waits. They are headed out for their BIG Trip to Virginia Beach. Our Collegiates and Seniors got a night out at the movies while our Juniors, Middies, and Inters had a ball bowling.

Our 3 oldest divisions head out to Virginia Beach tomorrow (Tuesday) its back to Camel Beach for the rest of camp. Our last attempt was rained out and with today’s sunny forecast, the campers are happy to head back to Camel beach for a fun day at a fantastic water park.

Another fantastic day down at Camp CHEN-A-WANDA!

It was another great day of full activities at Camp Chen-A-Wanda. Girls camp set the bar high with a fantastic Girls Sing so the boys are rehearsing tirelessly for Boys Lip Sync. We are all looking forward to see their stuff next week at their show.

We had a rip roarin’ time at our Western Hoedown. It was our mid-summer social & the campers were line dancing in their cowboy boots and ten gallon hats. Party Hardy played rockin music and the campers had a ball. It was great night and everyone danced till they dropped.
